BYLTup Supports Long Beach, CA's Home Improvement Roof Grant Program

Two men shaking hands

As a homeowner, one of the most crucial features of a property is the roof. Being the first line of defense against the sun, rain, fire, and high winds of Southern California, a roof must be kept in good shape to provide protection to those living inside. Unfortunately, life circumstances can sometimes make it difficult to maintain and upkeep a home that families have sacrificed everything for. Some Long Beach residents are often unable to afford the cost of roof repairs or replacement when the time comes. That's why the City of Long Beach, California, offers a Home Improvement Roof Grant Program (HIRGP) to provide financial assistance to qualifying residential property owners. BYLTup works with and supports the HIRGP to make sure Long Beach residents have a dry and protected home.

The HIRGP provides financial assistance, up to $20,000 to income-qualified, single-family residential property owners in Long Beach who need roof repairs or replacement. The goal of the HIRGP program is to improve the quality of life for very low-income property owners, specifically those on a fixed income, such as older adults, by helping homeowners acquire a safe and code-compliant roofing system. BYLTup works with the program to offer affordable roofing solutions to customers who are approved through the grant program. This means that if a homeowner qualifies for the HIRGP, BYLTup can help them complete the necessary roofing repairs or replacements needed to make their homes safe, comfortable, and code-compliant.

Properties to be rehabilitated must be located in designated CDBG, PBNIS and  R/ECAP areas within the City of Long Beach, CA. Additionally, the property to be rehabilitated must be a single-family home and must be owner-occupied. The owner-occupied property must be the owner’s primary place of residence. Total gross income of all household members over the age of 18 must be no greater than The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) guidelines. For further details on the application requirements, please click here.

BYLTup also takes care of the roof permit process for HIRGP customers. This means that homeowners who receive grant approval through the program don't have to worry about getting permits or navigating the often-complicated permitting process in Long Beach. BYLTup's team of experienced professionals can take care of everything, from roofing repairs and replacements to the permitting process, making the entire experience stress-free for the customer.

In addition to providing high-quality, affordable roofing services to HIRGP customers, BYLTup also partners with local community organizations to bring awareness to the program. By helping to generate awareness of the HIRGP, we hope to ensure that every Long Beach resident who needs roofing assistance is aware of the opportunity and how to apply. As we are currently helping several local residents through the process, our goal is to help as many people as possible to make their homes safe and secure.

Long Beach is our home, both professionally and personally and BYLTup is committed to making sure that all residents have safe, comfortable homes to live in. Along with our support for the HIRGP, we also provide free estimates to customers who need roofing repairs but aren't eligible for the grant program. We understand that a damaged roof can be a significant financial burden, and we strive to make sure our services are as affordable and accessible as possible to all homeowners in Long Beach.

Please help us spread the word and let all residents in Long Beach know we are here to help and support them for both their residences, as well as their businesses roofing and solar needs.
